As I share my passion for painting here on Chairish, I hope you will enjoy browsing this special collection of engagingly colorful and uniquely composed original still life and landscape oil paintings. An original painting offers a level of kinship that cannot be experienced otherwise, in my view. A very primal connection occurs through color that is heartfelt and often surpasses logical understanding. Art making and painting in particular has allowed me to speak in a way more powerful than words. This has been true for me since early childhood. At the very core, my source of inspiration is love and connection.
My Practice & Inspiration:
- Still Life Paintings: This is a large part of my current studio practice and one of my absolute favorites. I love working with everyday items such as, flowers, fruits, and vegetables, along with vintage or handmade wares. Still lifes teach me about inner exploration and how color can be hidden in the tiniest of locations, as if it is just waiting to be discovered. I love the magic in this type of experience!
- Landscapes & Plein Air Roots: While I focus heavily on studio still lifes today, I also create select landscape paintings featuring areas local to where I live in New Jersey. My artistic roots are deeply tied to painting en plein air (in the open air). Painting in nature connects me to its surprises and beauty, elements that I now channel directly into all of my contemporary canvases.
Each painting contains an investment of time and is infused with brushstrokes, color, and inspiration that speak masterfully in a simple yet contemporary way.
