Raised on the Southern coast of Alabama, Mary makes work that exudes strength in femininity and the complex beauty of the South. Using inks and acrylics, she lets the unruly materials inform the image that develops on the surface. The figures, shapes, and patterns that evolve are heavily influenced by her environment and love of nature- water, plants, clouds, etc. These imaginative and dreamlike scenes help her navigate her way through reality and connect us to something much larger than ourselves.

Mary received her BFA from the University of Georgia in 2016 and her MFA from New York Academy of Art in 2018. She currently resides in New Orleans, LA.
