A distinctive vintage Asian round wooden storage box with a removable domed lid, beautifully decorated in rich shades of deep red, burnt orange, ochre, and black. This unusual handcrafted decorative container features a flattened circular silhouette, an intricately patterned surface, and a sculptural metal ring handle, reflecting the appeal of traditional Asian painted and lacquered woodwork.

The gently domed lid is embellished with a dense arrangement of stylized floral and geometric motifs in warm golden orange and red against a dark background. A broad, deep crimson border encircles the composition, accented by darker bands and subtle hand-painted detailing that enhance the box's traditional character.

At the center, a raised circular fitting supports a dark patinated metal ring pull attached to a decorative leaf-shaped mount. The lid lifts away to reveal a circular opening, giving the vessel its practical storage function while preserving its unusual architectural form.

The underside reveals the natural grain of the wood, with visible signs of hand-finishing and age-related wear. The richly layered painted surface has developed an appealing distressed patina, with variations in color, rubbing, and small areas of paint loss that contribute to its vintage character.

Its low, rounded profile and vibrant red-and-black palette make this Asian decorative lidded box an appealing accent for a console, coffee table, bookshelf, or collector's cabinet. Equally suited to traditional, eclectic, and globally inspired interiors, it offers a striking combination of sculptural form, folk-art decoration, and functional craftsmanship.

An intriguing collectible for admirers of Asian folk art, Himalayan decorative objects, hand-painted wooden boxes, vintage lacquerware, and traditional handcrafted storage vessels.
