Balancing traditional sensibility and relaxed coastal style with nostalgic tribal elements, this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug is an amalgam of Caucasian influence. The abrashed sky blue field showcases two tan square medallions decorated inside and anchored with Ram's Horn motifs on either end. Spiked Goz eye protection motifs and eight-point stars surround the square medallions. It is enclosed with a stepped lozenge border flanked with an inner and outer running dog vitruvian scroll guard border. Though deceptively simple, this vintage Turkish rug is steeped in Anatolian history.
