A charming vintage Chinese stool crafted from solid elmwood, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The round seat rests on four gently splayed legs joined by simple cross stretchers, reflecting the practical, handcrafted construction of traditional Chinese country furniture. Generations of use have given the elm a beautifully weathered surface, highlighting the natural grain, worn edges, old joinery, and subtle irregularities that give the piece its authentic rustic character.
Simple, functional, and sculptural, this stool is a wonderfully versatile accent piece. Use it as occasional seating, a small side table, plant stand, or pedestal for pottery and collected objects. Its primitive form and naturally aged elm bring warmth and texture to Santa Fe, farmhouse, mountain modern, boho chic, or minimalist interiors.
