The shade displays a remarkable level of craftsmanship. Carefully shaped and joined wood segments create a rhythmic arrangement of growth rings, forming intricate patterns reminiscent of eyes, fans, and softly unfolding waves. Believed to be pine, the wood gives the light a rich, natural presence even when unlit.

Illumination reveals another dimension of the design. Light filters through the thinly worked wood, bringing its grain to life with warm amber tones and areas of deeper reddish glow. The result is an atmospheric interplay of natural material, pattern, and light.

A particularly beautiful detail is the inset wooden ring beneath the shade. Its outward-pointing elements evoke a stylized sun, creating a striking composition when viewed from below. The geometric wooden canopy and upper fitting complete the cohesive design.

Rooted in the Swedish tradition of expressive wood craftsmanship, this pendant brings warmth and sculptural interest to contemporary interiors. It would be especially appealing above a dining table, in a lakeside home or mountain retreat, or alongside natural stone, linen, and thoughtfully selected Scandinavian furniture.

Condition:
The wood shows age-related movement, including fine gaps at some joints and small fissures. These are consistent with the natural expansion and contraction of solid wood over the decades and form part of its vintage character. Some joints may have been re-glued in the past; the extent of any earlier work is not documented. Please review the detailed photographs.

The light is shown in working order. The wiring appears visually well preserved, although an electrical safety inspection is not documented. Installation and verification by a qualified electrician are recommended.
