Dating approximately to the 1950s, this characterful light brings warmth, texture, and a sense of nordic woodland craftsmanship to an interior.

the curved birch bark shade features floral groups of small perforations, complemented by finely notched borders. When illuminated, these openings create a beautiful arrangement of light and shadow, while the open top casts a soft glow upward. The result is an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that is particularly appealing in the evening.

below the shade, an irregular natural wood section, possibly birch root or burl, forms an expressive organic silhouette. Its richly textured surface and warm-toned finish emphasize the individual character of the material. Visible working marks on the reverse offer further insight into its handcrafted construction.

its compact proportions make it a charming accent beside a reading chair, in a hallway, or within a cozy bedroom. Equally suited to a scandinavian country house, ski chalet, log cabin, or lakeside retreat, it also introduces natural warmth into a contemporary interior.

purchased in sweden, this unusual example of swedish rustic lighting has an individual character shaped by its natural materials and handworked details.
