Standing over two metres high, the sculpture captures the commanding presence and natural elegance of a mature stag. The body is finely modelled with detailed musculature and extensively textured fur, particularly around the neck and shoulders, while the expressive face, upright ears and monumental antlers give the figure a remarkably lifelike character. Cast in bronze and carefully hand-finished with a rich two-tone patina, darker tones across the head, neck, legs and antlers contrast beautifully with warmer bronze highlights across the body. This variation in colour accentuates the sculptural detail and gives the surface considerable depth.
