Restored "Douze Airs Orchestre" Music Box by L'Epee with fully overhauled movement features 2 drums, 7 bells, castanet, and tune indicator. This intricate musical movement features an accompaniment of a drum and seven silvered saucer bells struck by decorative butterfly beaters. It plays a rich selection of twelve distinct melodies (“Douze airs”) Playing 12 tunes as indicated as indicated on the lithographed tune sheet affixed to the interior lid.
The brass cylinder and comb mechanics are housed behind an interior glass viewing panel within a handsomely veneered rosewood case, accented with fine inlaid stringing and cross-banding. The inlay to the front and lid is polished, the inside of the case is black polished. The mechanism has a 28cm cylinder and play very vivid and joy-full tunes on a 1 piece comb. The bells and drum can be switched of by 2 levers in front of the mechanism.

This box is excellent working condition, all tunes are well set and was Restored in 1985 by Kieth Harding Clock & Music Boxes in London England, Documentation in photos. There is some some wear to the finish on the lid.
