This is a gorgeously detailed ceramic elephant plant stand, in the style of Gump's of San Francisco. This item can also serve as a side table or pedestal. The wise white elephant is decorated as for a regal processional, with painted tassels, fabrics, and jewels adorning them. The top and sides have calligraphy in red. Small chip (see photo) at base.
According to Southeast Asian tradition, the white elephant is a symbol of good luck, wealth, power, and wisdom. It would also bring good design to a boho home, Florida room or other eclectic space.
