Vintage costume jewelry brooch with a polished oval cabochon center stone having a tortoiseshell pattern. It was engraved with "SYMMETALIC", the trademark of the W.E. Richards Co. (originating around 1936). The core metal is solid 925 sterling silver, not a cheap base metal, with a high-quality 14 K gold-filled exterior layer. It explicitly guarantees that at least 1/20th (or 5%) of the item's total weight consists of real 14-karat gold.
The central gemstone is encased in a Classic sterling silver + 14K gold rope twist frame.
