The lower section features a useful central drawer above a two-door cupboard, which opens to reveal a single internal shelf. This provides generous concealed storage while preserving the refined and balanced proportions characteristic of Regency cabinet furniture. Above the main worktop are two elegant open display shelves supported by turned pillars, creating a distinctive architectural profile and providing attractive spaces for displaying decorative objects, porcelain or collectibles. The chiffonier retains its original brass handles and is complete with its key, adding considerably to its period character and authenticity. Particularly impressive is the mahogany, which displays rich natural grain, warm colouring and beautiful figuring throughout. The cupboard doors are especially attractive, showcasing striking figured mahogany that gives the front of the piece considerable decorative presence. The cabinet stands on a solid plinth base, providing a strong visual foundation while complementing the clean architectural lines of the overall design. At only 34.5 cm deep, this is a particularly versatile piece, providing substantial display and storage capacity without projecting excessively into the room. It would work beautifully in a drawing room, dining room, hallway, library or sophisticated living space. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 19th-century origin. A rare and highly desirable example of English Regency furniture, combining beautifully figured mahogany, original brass hardware, elegant open shelving and practical cupboard storage within a remarkably well-proportioned design. Dimensions: Height: 133 cm Width: 94 cm Depth: 34.5 cm Worktop Height: 84 cm Weight: Approximately 45 kg (99 lb). Note: I would list this as early 19th century rather than 18th century. If it is genuinely Regency-period, circa 1820 would be a suitable working date; “18th Century Regency” is chronologically inconsistent. See less
