Well made and of good quality, the table combines elegant proportions, fine decorative detailing and carefully selected timbers to create a highly versatile piece suitable for both period and contemporary interiors. The distinctive demi-lune top provides the table with its graceful half-moon profile, allowing it to sit neatly against a wall while offering a generous surface for displaying decorative objects, lamps, artwork or flowers. Beneath the top is a finely reeded frieze, introducing subtle texture and architectural definition without detracting from the restrained character of the design. Particularly attractive is the delicate satinwood and ebony stringing, which provides an elegant contrast against the richly coloured mahogany. This fine decorative detailing highlights the cabinet maker's attention to proportion and finish. The table is raised on slender tapered legs terminating in traditional spade feet, giving the piece a light and sophisticated appearance while maintaining a well-balanced stance.
