Finely hand-painted, the bowl features naturalistic leafy decoration inspired by Chinese cabbage, a subject frequently associated with prosperity and abundance within Chinese decorative arts. The fresh botanical imagery gives the piece an attractive organic quality while retaining the refinement associated with Qing dynasty porcelain. The compact circular form allows the hand-painted decoration to remain the principal focus, with subtle variations in colour and brushwork contributing to the individual character of the piece. Measuring approximately 15 cm across, the bowl is ideally proportioned for display on a cabinet, console or within a collection of Chinese porcelain and Asian works of art. The piece is also signed, adding further interest to its decorative and collectible character. It is presented in good antique condition with general wear consistent with its considerable age. A decorative example of late Qing dynasty porcelain, combining traditional botanical imagery, hand-painted craftsmanship and authentic 19th-century character.
