Of diminutive proportions, the porcelain stands approximately 7 cm high and is accompanied by a fitted display stand. Finely hand-painted in the traditional famille rose palette, the piece displays delicate polychrome enamel decoration characteristic of Chinese porcelain from the period. Its compact form provides an intimate canvas for the detailed decoration, with subtle variations in colour and brushwork contributing to its individual handmade character. The porcelain is both hand-painted and hand-worked, reflecting the accomplished decorative craftsmanship associated with Qing dynasty ceramics. Its small scale makes it particularly appealing as a cabinet piece and ideal for display alongside Chinese porcelain, scholar's objects and other Asian works of art. Dating to circa 1850–1899, the piece retains authentic antique character. A hairline is present, together with general surface wear consistent with its considerable age.
