The chest incorporates four graduated full-width drawers, providing generous practical storage while creating the balanced façade characteristic of Georgian-period cabinet furniture. Each drawer is fitted with decorative brass handles and matching fittings, providing an elegant contrast against the warm tones of the oak and enhancing the traditional appearance of the piece. The oak displays particularly attractive natural figuring throughout, with a rich colour and mature patina developed through centuries of age and use. The variations within the grain give the chest considerable depth and individual character. Raised upon traditional bracket feet, the chest has a strong yet refined architectural profile and retains the restrained elegance associated with 18th-century English furniture. Presented in excellent antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 18th-century origin. A highly practical and decorative example of Georgian-period English furniture, offering substantial storage while remaining compact enough for a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or sophisticated living interior.
