The chest incorporates five drawers in total, traditionally configured with two smaller drawers positioned above three generously proportioned full-width drawers. This classic arrangement provides excellent organised storage, with the upper drawers particularly useful for smaller personal items and the larger drawers offering substantial capacity for clothing and linens. Each drawer retains its original decorative handles and fittings, preserving the authentic period character of the piece and providing an attractive contrast against the warm tones of the oak. The chest is raised upon a substantial plinth base, creating a strong and beautifully balanced silhouette while providing a reassuringly solid foundation. Particularly appealing is the oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Rich, warm tones and an established patina give the timber considerable depth and character, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century Edwardian origin.

At 105 cm wide and 104 cm high, this is a particularly practical and versatile chest, providing substantial storage capacity while retaining manageable proportions. Its restrained Edwardian design allows it to work equally well within a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or sophisticated country-house interior.
