The elegant baluster-shaped body is decorated with large stylised flowers in vibrant shades of lilac, blue, orange and yellow, complemented by delicately rendered green foliage. Fine gilt outlining highlights the floral decoration, while gilded bands around the rim and foot provide an additional touch of refinement. The luminous lustre ground creates subtle tonal variations across the surface and is particularly characteristic of the glamorous decorative ceramics produced during the Art Deco period. A striking example of British Carlton Ware, combining bold colour, intricate enamel decoration and an elegant period form. The vase presents beautifully and would make an attractive addition to a collection of Art Deco ceramics or as a standalone decorative accent. Presented in excellent vintage condition, with the enamel decoration remaining bright and intact. There is some age-related wear to the gilding around the rim. Any areas of glare visible in the photographs are light reflections rather than losses to the decoration. British, circa 1930s. Material: Glazed ceramic with enamel and gilt decoration. Measurements: Height 20 cm, Width approximately 14 cm, Depth approximately 14 cm. See less
