A fine pair of George VI sterling silver trinket or bon bon dishes, dating to 1943 and displaying elegant traditional English silver craftsmanship. Each dish is fashioned in a gently domed circular form with a finely pierced gallery featuring symmetrical fretwork. The decorative openwork creates an attractive sense of lightness while retaining a substantial and well-proportioned appearance. The rims are neatly wrapped over, a traditional strengthening technique that provides additional rigidity and definition to the design. Each dish is raised upon a circular stepped pedestal base, creating an elegant elevated profile. Both pieces bear matching Sheffield hallmarks for 1943 and have a combined net silver weight of approximately 251.4 grams.
Presented in very good vintage condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted losses, splits, bruises, damage or repairs, and the dishes remain free from engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. Both pieces stand securely without wobbling and retain a beautiful bright patina. Clean and ready for use or display.
