The upper section incorporates two small drawers with an unusual opening arrangement, providing useful storage while introducing an interesting and individual element to the design. Below are four further drawers, arranged as two smaller drawers above two larger drawers, creating a practical combination of storage for items of varying sizes. The drawers retain their original handles and fittings, preserving the authentic character of the piece. A subtly raised gallery finishes the top, adding architectural interest while increasing the overall height only slightly. The golden oak displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout, complemented by warm honey tones and an appealing aged character that highlights the natural beauty of the timber. Particularly desirable are the chest's low proportions. At only 73 cm high, it provides substantial storage while leaving the upper surface readily accessible for lamps, artwork, decorative objects or everyday use. Very well constructed and presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use. An unusual and highly versatile storage piece, ideally suited to a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or living space within traditional, country-house or contemporary interiors.
