Each spoon features a refined corded border with stylised foliate motifs modelled in relief to the terminals. The domed bowls are beautifully chased with repoussé decoration depicting graceful swags and classical acanthus leaf motifs. The bowls retain their original gold-wash gilding, creating an attractive contrast with the polished sterling silver and further enhancing the elaborate decoration. Generously proportioned for serving soft fruits, berries, vegetables and other accompaniments, the pair combines practical functionality with an impressive decorative presence. Fully hallmarked for London 1909 and crafted from sterling silver, the spoons have a combined net silver weight of approximately 181.8 grams. Presented in very good antique condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted bruises, damage or repairs, and the pieces remain free from later inscriptions or monograms. The silver retains a beautiful bright patina and is clean and ready for use or display. Accompanied by their original period fitted presentation case.
