The chest features three spacious full-width drawers to the front, providing excellent practical storage for clothing, linens and other household essentials. Each drawer retains its original handles, preserving the established character of the piece and providing an attractive decorative detail against the warm tones of the oak. An elegant raised gallery runs along the top, neatly framing the useful worktop surface and adding a refined architectural element to the otherwise restrained design. The chest stands on sturdy square legs, providing a strong and well-balanced foundation while reflecting the clean lines and practical craftsmanship associated with Edwardian furniture. Throughout, the oak displays gorgeous natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation. The quality and character of the timber give the chest considerable warmth and visual appeal. Measuring 91.5 cm wide and 44 cm deep, the chest provides generous storage while retaining relatively compact and versatile proportions. The 76.5 cm worktop height also creates a practical surface for displaying a lamp, mirror, photographs or decorative objects. Its combination of three generous drawers, original hardware, raised gallery and beautifully grained oak makes this an especially practical and attractive piece for a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or living space. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable Edwardian chest of drawers combining beautiful oak grain, three spacious drawers, original handles, a raised gallery and sturdy square supports within a timeless and functional design.
