The chest is arranged with four useful drawers, providing surprisingly generous storage within its slender form. Each drawer retains its original brass handles and fittings, adding authenticity and an attractive decorative contrast against the warmly coloured timber. Particularly appealing are the graceful cabriole legs, each enhanced with decorative carved knee detailing. These give the chest an elegant, flowing silhouette and elevate it beyond the appearance of a purely functional storage piece. Throughout, the timber displays attractive natural grain, warm colouring and established character, complementing the brass hardware and carved detailing beautifully. Measuring only 39.5 cm wide and 29 cm deep, the chest has exceptionally versatile proportions. Its narrow footprint makes it particularly suitable for smaller bedrooms, hallways, studies or other interiors where useful storage is required without occupying substantial floor space. It could also work particularly well as an unusual bedside piece, providing four drawers of storage while adding genuine period character to an interior. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly attractive and practical example of Edwardian furniture, combining four drawers, original brass fittings, elegant cabriole legs and carved knee detailing within a particularly desirable compact form.
