Very well made and of good quality, the chest provides useful storage within a compact footprint, making it particularly versatile for use within a bedroom, hallway, study or living space. The front is arranged with three practical drawers, providing generous storage relative to the modest dimensions of the piece. Each drawer retains its original brass swan-neck handles, adding an attractive traditional detail while complementing the warm colouring of the timber. Traditional Campaign-style carrying handles are fitted to either side of the chest, reinforcing the distinctive military-inspired character of the design and providing an appealing decorative feature. The chest is raised on traditional bracket feet, giving it a sturdy and well-balanced stance while complementing its compact, classically proportioned form. The timber displays beautiful natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation throughout. As the precise timber species has not been specified, its natural character has been allowed to remain a principal decorative feature without unnecessary ornamentation. The combination of brass swan-neck drawer handles, side carrying handles and bracket feet gives the chest an immediately recognisable Campaign-inspired appearance while retaining the practicality required for everyday use. Measuring only 58 cm wide and 63 cm high, the chest is particularly versatile and could serve as a compact chest of drawers, bedside chest, occasional storage piece or attractive hallway cabinet. Its modest proportions also make it well suited to contemporary interiors where space is limited, while its traditional styling allows it to sit comfortably alongside antique and period furniture. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A handsome and versatile Campaign style chest of drawers combining practical storage, original brass handles and attractive traditional detailing within a compact and highly usable design.
