The chest incorporates five drawers arranged in the classic configuration of two smaller drawers above three generously proportioned full-width drawers, providing substantial and versatile storage. All five drawers retain their original crystal handles, an especially attractive feature that introduces a delicate decorative contrast against the rich tones of the mahogany while preserving the period character of the piece. Particularly distinctive rope-carved decoration extends vertically to either side of the drawer configuration, adding architectural definition and visual interest to the façade.
