The chest features three generously proportioned drawers to the front, providing useful storage while maintaining the graceful flowing lines characteristic of the Bombe design. Each drawer retains its original brass handles and fittings, adding an attractive decorative contrast to the richly coloured timber while preserving the established character of the piece. The distinctive Bombe-shaped case creates an elegant curved silhouette, with the front and sides flowing gracefully towards the base. Decorative carved feet complete the design and give the chest an attractive sense of refinement and balance. Throughout, the timber displays stunning natural grain, rich colouring and attractive tonal variation, giving the piece considerable warmth and decorative appeal. At 93 cm wide and 71 cm high, the chest has particularly versatile proportions. Its relatively compact size makes it suitable for use as a small chest of drawers, bedside storage piece or decorative accent cabinet within a bedroom, hallway or living space. The combination of its distinctive serpentine Bombe form, three practical drawers, original brass hardware and decorative carved feet makes this an especially attractive and functional piece. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin.
