The wooden surfaces exhibit substantial wear, including scratches, abrasions, scattered white paint drops on one side, discoloration, minor edge losses and variations in the original finish. The interior shows wear, old nail or fastener marks and scattered small holes and indentations. The iron reinforcing plates exhibit oxidation, darkening and surface wear. Some minor irregularities and separation are visible along the outer edges and corners. The box retains an attractive, naturally aged patina.
