The 19th century was an age of revivals and growing prosperity, when workshops across France reinterpreted earlier styles for a wider public and furniture was made in greater numbers than ever before. Age-appropriate wear and a soft patina speak to a long and honest working life. Placed in a living room, library or bedroom, it offers comfort with real presence and sits happily alongside both antique and modern pieces. See less
