This is a Chinese Canton enamel-on-copper box featuring a yellow background with scrolling green foliage and pink floral accents. The lid depicts a woman in flowing robes in a garden setting, framed by a scalloped border. Landscape and floral panels continue around the sides, while turquoise enamel finishes the interior.
The underside bears a red four-character Qianlong reign mark. Attributed to the late 19th or early 20th century; the mark does not establish production during the Qianlong period.
A lovely decorative accent for a desk, bookshelf, or collected tabletop.
