Produced as a double-sided flange … Read more An original British Shell-Mex & BP Aladdin Pink enamel advertising sign dating from the 1960s–1970s. Produced as a double-sided flange sign, the piece retains its original projecting mounting flange, allowing the advertising design to be viewed from either direction when installed. The distinctive Aladdin Pink branding and bold period graphics make this an especially attractive example of British petroleum advertising. The enamel surface retains strong colour and gloss, with remarkably little wear considering its original commercial use. Its combination of distinctive branding, double-sided construction and surviving mounting flange gives the piece considerable appeal as an example of vintage petroliana. An excellent decorative addition to a collection of motoring memorabilia, petroliana, advertising signs or British commercial design. Presented in excellent vintage condition with minimal wear and appropriate signs of age consistent with its original use.
