The fan features a substantial cast-steel construction finished in cream enamel, complemented by polished chrome blades and a cream-enamelled stainless-steel protective guard. A two-speed control lever allows the fan to operate at different settings, retaining the straightforward mechanical functionality characteristic of British electrical appliances of the period. Limit Manufacturing Ltd was a British manufacturer associated with small electric motors and electrical equipment. By the mid-20th century, the company had developed a significant presence within British electrical engineering and was associated with the production and supply of motors for ventilation equipment. Dating to 1958, this example captures the utilitarian aesthetic of post-war British industrial design while remaining highly decorative. Its compact proportions make it particularly suitable for display upon a desk, side table, shelving unit or within a collection of vintage electrical and industrial objects. The fan is described as being in full working order and has been rewired and PAT tested. As with any vintage electrical appliance, suitability for continued use should be assessed according to local electrical requirements.
