The artist has carefully arranged the individual mechanical elements to capture the distinctive anatomy of a seahorse, from its elongated head and articulated body to the characteristic curved tail. Gears, fittings and recognisable machine components remain deliberately visible, celebrating the industrial origins of the materials rather than disguising them. The combination of aged metal surfaces and intricate mechanical construction gives the sculpture a strong retro-futurist character associated with Steampunk and assemblage art. Its marine subject also lends the piece a distinctive nautical quality. Standing an impressive 80 cm high, the sculpture has considerable visual presence and can function as a statement piece within an industrial or contemporary interior, bar, restaurant, office, workshop or collection of mechanical art. The imaginative transformation of discarded machinery into an organic marine form creates an engaging contrast between nature and engineering, making this an unusual and highly decorative example of upcycled sculptural art. Presented in very good vintage condition with surface wear, oxidation and patination to the repurposed components consistent with their previous industrial use.
