The shrine is densely decorated with an elaborate arrangement of deities, priests, figures, birds and mythical creatures, all worked in intricate relief. The complex carving creates a highly sculptural composition, with numerous individual details revealed throughout the surface. At the centre is the original mirror, framed by the elaborate carved decoration. The combination of devotional imagery, mythical figures and naturalistic motifs gives the piece considerable visual and cultural interest. The hardwood has acquired a rich surface and patina through age, enhancing the depth and definition of the carving. Presented in good antique condition, with knocks, losses, surface wear and other signs of age consistent with its period and fragile carved construction.
