The generously proportioned top provides an excellent serving or display surface, making the piece particularly suitable for a dining room while showcasing the attractive natural character of the oak. The central section incorporates two useful drawers, providing convenient storage for cutlery, linens and smaller household items. Beneath is an open shelf, creating additional accessible storage or an attractive space for displaying decorative objects. A cupboard is positioned to either side of the central section, each opening to reveal an internal shelf and providing substantial concealed storage. Decorative brass handles complement the warm tones of the oak and add an attractive period detail to the façade. The sideboard is raised upon gracefully shaped cabriole legs, creating an elegant silhouette and providing a refined contrast to its substantial 182 cm width. Particularly appealing is the oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Rich, warm tones and an appealing aged patina give the timber considerable depth and character. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition. There are some age-related imperfections and signs of historic use, consistent with the age and character of the piece; please refer closely to the photographs for further detail.
