The generously proportioned bowl is raised upon an elegant pedestal terminating in a substantial square foot, giving the piece a balanced and architectural profile. The deeply cut geometric decoration demonstrates the decorative qualities for which Victorian crystal glassware became particularly admired during the 19th century. A substantial and highly decorative piece, suitable for use as a centrepiece, serving or fruit bowl, or simply displayed as an example of late Victorian decorative glass. Presented in good antique condition with appropriate signs of age and use. There is a very small chip to the underside of the base and a tiny chip to the rim, neither of which significantly detracts from the overall appearance of the piece.
