The chair is distinguished by its elaborate figural carving, incorporating boars' heads, griffins and the Green Man. These sculptural motifs give the piece a dramatic Gothic character, with the detailed carving extending throughout the substantial oak frame. The seat is upholstered in burgundy fabric, providing a rich contrast to the dark oak, while turned bobbin stretchers add further decorative interest to the lower frame.
