The broad copper frame is embellished with stylised fleur-de-lis motifs and ornate detailing to each corner, the hand-worked surface creating a rich texture and warm, naturally aged appearance. The design is in the manner of the decorative metalwork retailed by Liberty & Co. during the Arts and Crafts period, although no maker attribution is confirmed. The frame surrounds bevelled mirror glass, providing a refined contrast to the textured copperwork. A handsome example of English Arts and Crafts design with considerable decorative presence. Presented in good antique condition, with natural patination and age-related surface wear consistent with its period.
