An impressive antique English Edwardian three-arm chandelier dating to circa 1910, combining an ornate brass framework with four beautifully contrasting pieces of hand-moulded opaline glass. The substantial brass structure displays the elegant transitional character of early 20th-century British lighting, combining Arts & Crafts influences with flowing Art Nouveau-inspired detailing. Three gracefully curved swan-neck arms extend from the central body, each terminating in an original gallery supporting a cased opaline glass shade. At the centre hangs a considerably larger opaline glass plafonnier bowl, creating a dramatic tiered composition and providing both downward illumination and softer ambient light from the three surrounding shades. Scrolling supports, floral detailing and the naturally aged brass finish enhance the chandelier's architectural presence. Professionally rewired using period-appropriate fabric-braided cable, earthed, tested and reported to be in full working order. A substantial statement chandelier particularly well suited to a period residence, entrance hall, dining room or large living space.
