Its dark appearance changes under strong transmitted light, revealing olive and golden-brown tones; the colourway is possibly Whitefriars Twilight. Made in England by Whitefriars / James Powell & Sons, this handmade piece dates to the mid-20th century and measures approximately 15 cm high. The accompanying catalogue illustration identifies pattern 9096 as a doorstop. Underneath is a broad polished base with a deeply polished pontil. There are surface scratches and signs of use, particularly across the underside. No major damage is reported, though the base has clearly visible wear consistent with its practical purpose. See less
