Below them, the inscription ‘Essences of Past Summers’ circles the body above tubelined leaves on a deep blue ground. George Cartlidge designed the vase for S. Hancock & Sons’ Morris Ware range, circa 1920. Its floral decoration reflects the Arts and Crafts style. The base carries a painted Cartlidge signature and a printed factory stamp. It measures 19 cm high. The vase is in very good overall antique condition, retaining its rich colours and glossy finish. Crazing and light wear are visible underneath. It is offered without a cover.
