The mirror features a finely shaped frame with carved leaf decoration and a swivel mechanism that allows the upper mirror to be adjusted to the desired angle. The original mirror plate remains in place and displays attractive silvering and foxing developed through more than two centuries of age. An unusual feature is the additional mirror incorporated into the base, which also retains its aged original plate. This distinctive arrangement adds both visual interest and functionality to the design. The piece retains its original back and stands on carved bun feet. The upper mirror can be detached from the base for easier transportation. Presented in good antique condition and structurally sturdy. Both mirror plates display extensive age-related silvering, with minor knocks, marks and general wear consistent with the considerable age of the piece.
