An elegant four-drawer commode attributed to Baker Furniture’s Collector’s Edition, combining French-inspired form with richly detailed chinoiserie decoration.
The black ground is accented with gold landscape scenes featuring figures, pagodas, birds, and graceful trees. Each drawer presents a different composition, framed by delicate latticework and fine gold borders. Ornate gold-tone bail pulls, decorative escutcheons, and coordinating corner mounts lend depth and sculptural detail.
A sophisticated statement piece for an entryway, living room, or bedroom, offering generous storage within a beautifully proportioned silhouette.
Unmarked; attributed to Baker based on its close correspondence to documented Collector’s Edition examples. Manufacturer attribution is not confirmed.
