Its features include a threaded … Read more 19th-century German salt-glazed water jug from the historic Roisdorf Mineral Spring is embossed 'Roisdorfer Mineralquelle'. Its features include a threaded neck and a graceful finger loop. The well-matched wood-and-cork stopper is from an antique Sanford Ink bottle and was paired with it when we found it. Roisdorfer Mineralquelle was utilized as early as the Roman era, officially named as a healing spring in 1774, and visited by Ludwig van Beethoven, who lived in nearby Bonn. These bottles were made to withstand the high pressure of carbonation during rugged European transport. See less
