A beautiful mid-century French majolica oyster plate crafted by the historic Faïencerie de Gien. This earthenware plate features a vibrant, glossy turquoise-blue glaze that accentuates its intricate, molded details. The design includes six individual shell-shaped oyster wells arranged symmetrically around a central circular reservoir, separated by raised seaweed motifs.
The underside bears the authentic, crisp underglaze black castle backstamp used by the Gien factory during the mid-20th century, reading "GIEN FRANCE." Perfect as a functional serving piece, a decorative wall-hanging accent, or an addition to a curated barbotine collection.
