The artwork is crafted using tempera on a wood panel, measuring 6 inches in width, 1 inch in depth, and 7.3 inches in height. The icon is adorned with a chased and stamped brass oklad (cover), which has a beautifully intricate embossed design. The brass exhibits some natural tarnishing, consistent with its age, and adds a vintage allure to the piece. The icon displays the classic stylistic elements typical of religious artworks of the period, portraying a serene and reverent image of the Virgin and Child. Despite minor wear, such as slight peeling of the linen backing and tarnishing of the brass, the icon remains in good condition, preserving its historical and artistic significance. See less
