The triptych features kabuki actors in a vibrant theatrical setting, capturing the essence of a performance with musicians in the background, a hallmark of Kunisada’s oeuvre. These prints are crafted using inks and colors meticulously applied to mulberry bark paper, a traditional medium that adds authenticity and depth to the artwork. However, the piece shows signs of age and wear. The prints suffer from tears, losses at the sheet edges, and significant fading, indicative of old repairs. Additionally, the framing, although sturdy, has evident damages with pieces missing. Despite these conditions, the expressive features and intricate costumes of the kabuki actors exude historical and aesthetic value.
