Charming antique oval sterling silver picture frame featuring an elegant bamboo-inspired border and two spherical feet. The frame is beautifully detailed with rounded bamboo stalks, engraved linear accents, and distinctive segmented joints. Its restrained yet decorative design reflects the influence of Japonisme and the popularity of East Asian-inspired motifs in late Victorian and early 20th-century decorative arts.
The frame is clearly stamped STERLING on the reverse. No identifiable manufacturer's mark has been found. Measuring approximately 3 1/2x 5 inches the frame retains its original wooden backing. The sterling silver frame and feet weigh approximately 39 grams, excluding the wooden backing.
An attractive small sterling silver frame for collectors of antique silver, bamboo-inspired decorative arts, and early 20th century accessories.
