Crafted in Portugal during the mid-to-late 20th century, this oversized statement piece beautifully captures the traditional European love for ocean-inspired tablewares.
The platter features a highly detailed, relief-molded texture highlighting crisp fish scales, defined fins, and a stylized face. Finished in a luminous, high-gloss white glaze, its curved silhouette mirrors the fluid movement of a swimming fish, making it a beautiful addition to a dining table or a coastal wall display.
Measuring an impressive 17.5 inches long, this dramatic earthenware dish is perfectly sized for serving a whole salmon, a mountain of fresh seafood, or acting as an eye-catching centerpiece. The underside features authentic unglazed foot rings and is stamped with the original maker's marks, including the mold inventory number 556 and "Portugal."

Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Features a few tiny, natural glaze pinholes near the upper rim from the original kiln firing—a classic characteristic of authentic vintage art pottery that confirms its hand-crafted origin. See less
