This table lamp features a distinctly traditional Italian Florentine wood-painting style.
Both the upper campanula-shaped body and the lower square wooden base are individually hand-painted with nautical landscapes, depicting sailing ships, dhows, and distant coastlines on open seas, showcasing the nautical charm of classical Venice or the Mediterranean coast.
The central waist, flared rim, and body joints are extensively finished with an aged, faux-gold-leaf, green-based gold lacquer, with a captivating sense of age and weathering.
This type of table lamp was very popular during the mid-20th-century Italian handicraft export boom, adding a rich classical Mediterranean feel, a rustic manor atmosphere, or a Tuscan vintage charm to any space.
