This vintage ceramic vase pairs a warm, earthy body with bold cascades of blue-green glaze. The bulbous, hand-thrown form swells to a generous belly from a modest footring, narrows at the shoulder, and flares into a broad, flat, outward-turned rim. A glossy, burnt-sienna glaze covers the lower body and rim in deep caramel and chestnut. From the neck, a creamy buttercup slip runs down in long, tapering ribbons. Over it, painterly washes of teal, cobalt, and sea-green fall in leaf-like, feathered drips that bleed softly into the cream and finish in rounded teardrop points. The glaze shows fine crazing and a glassy depth, with the shiny finish contrasting the matte, exposed clay at the foot. Faint throwing lines and gentle asymmetry confirm the potter's hand. Small chips along the rim and base reveal the pinkish terracotta body beneath, and a soft, aged patina gives the piece an authentic, collected character. The palette feels both rustic and richly artistic.
Compact yet full of presence, this vase suits a bookshelf, mantel, console, windowsill, or kitchen shelf, and it grounds a vignette of earthy ceramics. It complements Rustic, Farmhouse, Organic Modern, Mid-Century Modern, and Bohemian interiors. The vase measures 5 inches in width, 5 inches in depth, and 5.75 inches in height. Condition is good: the original glaze retains its vibrancy, with minor chips and wear around the rim and base consistent with age, and no visible cracks or repairs. For care, dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe gently with a barely damp cloth. Use it for dried or faux stems, or add a liner before holding fresh flowers.
